I am very excited to be the new principal of Clarksville Middle School. I have been dedicated to the field of education for 25 years as a teacher, leadership intern, and assistant principal. My educational journey began in Norfolk, Virginia where I discovered my passion for teaching middle school students. Upon graduating from Old Dominion University with my Master’s Degree in Education, I began teaching in the Norfolk Public School System. Making the decision to move back to Maryland, I spent one year in the Anne Arundel County School System. Subsequent to my time there, I joined the Howard County School System where I have remained for the past 20 years. My tenure in Howard County started as an English/Reading teacher and team leader at Patuxent Valley Middle School. As a result of the many leadership opportunities provided to me early in her career, I decided to further my education in administration. I earned a Graduate Certificate in School Administration and Supervision from Johns Hopkins University. My leadership journey continued at Dunloggin Middle School, Hammond Middle School, and Lime Kiln Middle where I served as the Assistant Principal. With each new journey, my most important role has been to make decisions that are best for all student success. I believe strongly in community building and restorative practices. I prioritize building positive relationships with students, staff, and families. I am elated to be named the Principal of Clarksville Middle School and is excited to work with such a dynamic staff. I am ready to collaborate with all stakeholders as a partner in education in order to ensure the social emotional well-being and academic success of all students. I look forward to watching every student at Clarksville ignite their personal genius!
