2017-18 Celebration Theme:
"If I cannot do great things, I will do small things in a great way"

"HOW DO YOU TRANSLATE DR. KING'S VISION IN TODAY'S TIMES?"

CONTEST RULES

  • Must be Howard County middle or high school students.
  • Essays must be typed, double spaced and in the Microsoft word format.
  • Include the student’s name, address, telephone number , email l address, name of school and grade.
  • Essays must be submitted individually.
  • Winners will  be notified by email and US mail.
  • Middle school essays must be 500 to 750 words.
  • High school essays must be 750 to 1000 words.
  • Essays will be judged on content, essay theme connection to Dr. King’s work, spelling, grammar and sentence structure.
  • Students with disabilities may submit entries using other media, posters, pictures, etc.
  • Include the student’s name, address, telephone and school.

 

PRIZES
 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
1 st place - $250  2nd place - $200  3rd place - $150

 MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
1 st place - $200  2nd place - $150  3rd place - $100

Prizes will be awarded at Dr. MLK, Jr. celebration,
Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Reservoir
High School. Winners will be notified by email and
phone.
