Dear Clarkville Middle School Community,
The communications roll over has happened, August is here and the rhythm of the summer tells us that school is back soon!
Welcome to all of our new families to Clarksville Middle! It was great to meet some of you at the Popsicles with the Principal event on July 22, and I'm looking forward to meeting more of you this Wednesday and at our back to school events!
We are hoping that our back to school events will help your young person and your family get connected and find your home at our school. See below for more information on the New Student Orientation, Family File, and Supply List.
Let us know if you have any questions or if there is something you’d like to see in the newsletter. All of this information is also posted on our website at http://cvms.hcpss.org/.
There is nothing too big or too small for us to work on together, so don’t hesitate to reach out.
Regards,
Richard Smart, Principal (richard_smart@hcpss.org)

Update Your Student/Family Emergency Information Today!
HCPSS utilizes Family File for families to complete emergency information. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child each school year.
Each year in August, parents/guardians can access and complete Family File by logging in to HCPSS Connect, selecting the Online Registration at the top right of the page and then selecting Family File Verification.
Once logged in, parents/guardians will be asked to update or provide the following: family information; parent/guardian contact; emergency contact(s); and student information, including health information, PTA/PTSA directory inclusion, release of information, science agreement, and arrival/dismissal procedures.
UPDATED CLARKSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST
Click here for the 26-27 CMS School Supply Menu, now updated to include a School Planner to help all of our students with organization.
From the Health Room
Vaccines: The Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene requires all incoming 7th- and 8th-grade students in the state of Maryland to have one Tdap and one meningococcal (Meningitis) vaccine before entering school. Letters have been mailed home to parents of students who still need to provide proof of vaccination. Failure to provide proof of updated immunizations by the first day of school, August 25, 2025, will result in your student being excluded from school.
