GT Nominations for 6th and 7th Graders - due 12/12/14

Tue, 12/09/2014 - 10:24pm

The Howard County Public School System is currently in the process of accepting nominations for sixth and seventh grade students for possible participation in middle school G/T content classes (English, mathematics, science, and social studies). The nomination period will last through Friday,  December 12, 2014.

Students currently participating successfully in a G/T content class in middle school are eligible to continue in that discipline next year without the need for any additional paperwork or testing.

If you have a child, in 6th or 7th grade, whom you wish to nominate for G/T testing, please contact Mr. Herdman, the G/T Resource Teacher, by December 12, 2014.  Testing will take place at the end of January and students who do test into G/T will have the option of entering into G/T the following school year.

Please note: Students are only eligible for testing if they have not tested during the last calendar year.   If your child has already been tested for the G/T Program, parents may submit a request for a "Placement Review" for a particular content area class rather than having the student retest.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Herdman, G/T Resource Teacher, at 410-313-7057 or philip_herdman@hcpss.org
