We will have printed schedules for all grade 6 students at orientation and for all students on the first day of school in their first period class. However, we encourage students to bring a copy of their schedule with them so they will feel confident walking into the building.

If you have any questions or needs regarding schedules please use this form.  This form is for parents/guardians of CMS students to share a question or concern. Submitting this form is a request for review, not a confirmation of change. Only a parent or legal guardian with the right to make educational decisions for the student may submit this form.

CMS Schedule Change Request Form

We will attempt to honor parent requests, and please be aware that not all schedule requests may be possible.  Requests will be evaluated based on criteria such as course availability and class size.  Schedule change requests made due to teacher preference are unable to be honored.

  • Smart watches may be worn during the student day but may not distract instruction or be used for reasons other than checking the time.
  • A staff member on a school-sponsored field trip may permit the use of a personal technology device by a student in limited situations where capturing a picture or video may be appropriate or contacting a parent/guardian is necessary.
  • School administrators and school administrators’ designees may authorize use of a personal device in rare instances such as an emergency for communication purposes, and when allowed as described in a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), Section 504 Plan, or Health Plan.

Daily Attendance

From the Health Room:

  • All medications need to have up to date prescriptions and orders in order for students to receive medication during school hours.
  • Please review this information for OTC and Prescription Medications:  https://www.hcpss.org/health/medications/
  • Vaccines: The Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene requires all incoming 7th- and 8th-grade students in the state of Maryland to have one Tdap and one meningococcal (Meningitis) vaccine before entering school.  Letters have been mailed home to parents of students who still need to provide proof of vaccination. Failure to provide proof of updated immunizations by the first day of school, August 25, 2025, will result in your student being excluded from school. See flyer for details: English Version and Spanish Version
