RECENT EVENTS
And just like that, September is behind us! A warm thank you to every one of our 164 members who joined the CMS PTA during the membership drive at the beginning of the year. Of course, anytime is the right time to support the PTA, and there are so many families who have yet to sign up. Please consider joining and donating today!
The PTA concluded its Teacher Supply Program on September 30th. Teachers requested items from the PTA to enhance their classrooms. We delivered computer speakers, classroom incentives, learning toys, digital clocks, pencils, colored pencils, colored dry erase markers, disinfecting wipes, tissues, and more. The PTA is proud to support CMS teachers on behalf of its members!
Chipotle donated over $600 from the PTA’s Restaurant Night on September 15th! Thank you to everyone who supported this event. We hope to raise even more this month when our community eats at Jersey Mike’s in Clarksville on Tuesday, October 13th from 3-9 pm.
Lastly, our student program this month is the Fall After School Recess & Social happening Friday, October 9th. Students are invited to stay after dismissal until 4:10 pm to play with recess equipment and be with their friends. Snacks are provided and $7 tickets will be on sale until the day before the event.
REFLECTIONS ART PROGRAM
PTA Reflections is an annual, nationally acclaimed student recognition program that encourages students to express themselves through the arts. Students submit entries in one of six categories (visual arts, photography, dance choreography, music composition, literature, or film production.) This year’s theme is: “What My Culture Means to Me.”
Submissions are due November 1st. We started advertising for Reflections at the beginning of September, and there is still time to create an entry! Please visit this link for more information about participating in Reflections. Please use this Google Form to submit your entry.
And, please consider volunteering as a judge. No certification necessary; just a passion and talent for the arts! We are still in need of judges for the following categories: dance choreography, film production, and literature. The estimated time commitment is 2-4 hours in early November. UPCOMING EVENTS
Fall After School Recess & Social
October 9 | 2:35-4:10 PM
How about recess that isn’t part of lunch? Have your student stay after school to play in the beautiful fall weather. Pizza, snacks, and water will energize students during this fun time. Pickup is at 4:10 pm. $7 tickets are available on our website. We are also looking for volunteers to hand out snacks and help the kids play games. If you are free, please volunteer using our SignUpGenius.
Restaurant Night — Jersey Mike’s
October 13 | 3:00–9:00 PM
Jersey Mike’s will donate 20% of your purchase to the CMS PTA. Visit their Clarksville location on October 13th from 3-9 pm at 6030 Daybreak Circle or order online using the promo code JMGIVES. Enjoy great subs while supporting a local business and the PTA!
General Membership Meeting
October 14 | 7:00–8:00 PM
Monthly meetings are now hybrid until our last meeting in May. Please visit the CMS Media Center or use this Google Meet link to participate and hear organizational updates.
Bingo and Board Games
November 6 | 2:35–4:10 PM
Students can stay after school to play bingo and board games! Small prizes (everyone is a winner 😉), snacks, and drinks will be provided. This is another opportunity for students to build positive relationships and make fun memories at CMS. $7 tickets are available on our website.

We would love your help! You are never volunteering alone, and we will help you get comfortable with any position. We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with:
· Planning our Winterfest! dance (February),
· Planning our 8th grade dance (April), or
· Managing our social media posts on Facebook and Instagram

The CMS PTA is excited to offer spiritwear to our community! Our vendor, Spiritwear Direct, created a website for our school and will donate a portion of every purchase back to the CMS PTA. Purchase items through our website or directly from https://clarksvillespiritwear.com/.
What if your student doesn’t want a hoodie? (Unlikely.)
