CMS Student Clubs and Activities

Below is the list of currently approved after-school clubs and activities, along with their sponsoring teachers:

Meeting days and locations vary by activity. Sponsoring teachers are currently finalizing their schedules and will share specific signup details and meeting details directly with students via Canvas.

Jewish Student Union

Join us for the first Jewish Student Union meeting on Tuesday, September 29, right after school in Ms. Kaplan's classroom. Pickup will be promptly at 3:45.

In order for the club to be approved, we need a minimum of 12 students signed up - so please spread the word! All students are welcome to join.

A signed and turned in permission form is needed to attend the meetings. The forms may be picked up from and turned into our sponsor teacher Ms. Kaplan.

Forms are due by Friday, September 25.

After School Art Intramural

Mr. West will be sponsoring an after-school open art studio club intramural beginning on Thursday, October 8. This intramural is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  Students will be free to explore their own art interests with materials and guidance provided by Mr. West as desired. Sessions will be held each Thursday immediately after school until 4:35. The sessions will run until sometime in December.

Math Counts!

Clarksville Middle School will once again have a Math Counts after school club. We will meet on Tuesdays after school from 2:35-3:45 in Mr. Brubaker's classroom. The first meeting will be Sept 29. Math Counts is a national organization focused on competitive mathematics. At our club meeting we will work on high-level math problems both individually and in teams. Students will be introduced to concepts not yet covered in the math curriculum and have the opportunity to compete against their peers. At the end of December, a team of students will be chosen, based off their scores in practice competitions, to represent CMS at several competitions. If you have questions, email Mr. Brubaker at graig_brubaker@hcpss.org. Permission slips can be turned in directly to Mr. Brubaker, to your math teacher, or emailed to Mr. Brubaker. It's Academic Club

Do you enjoy trivia, friendly competition, and testing your knowledge across all kinds of topics? Then come check out It’s Academic Team!

First Meeting: Friday, September 11th, after school from 2:40-3:45
Location: You will be assigned to a specific classroom. Your classroom assignment will be shared with you after you complete the sign-up form.

At our first meeting, we’ll:

  • Play some practice rounds
  • Talk about what’s coming up this year
  • Get ready for the first tournament in October
